The next eBike adventure Wagga Wagga Gears and Beers

Over the last couple of years, we've helped pull together a team of eBike oldies to tackle an event called Gravel Grit Laguna; a 60-odd kilometre gravel course venturing deep into the Olney State Forest – just two hours north of Sydney.

This year, the team are hungry (and thirsty) for more, and so we've committed to taking on the Gears and Beers Filthy 50 in Wagga Wagga this October long weekend. With several course options and distances to choose from, our eBike crew should feel right at home on the 50-kilometre course that zigs and zags across the surrounding farm roads and nearby hills. It wouldn't be a Gears and Beers weekend without a few refreshing ales and it's only fitting that our crew will find themselves with a plethora of delicious beverages on offer shortly after crossing the finish line.

Up until this year, each event has been ridden in an "all for one and one for all" formation, however, as previous experience has begun to show, some of us stepped up the practice while others prefer to take things at a more 'Eco' pace. It's highly likely we'll all start together, but as to the finishing order, that's anyone's guess.

Out of all the events we've ridden thus far, Gears and Beers really has us chomping at the bit and not only because it's a great town to visit – the weekend is designed around the entire family. You don't need to be a rider to have a great time and that's what we think really makes it stand out above the others.

So, consider this your official invite to come and join us for a weekend away. The Rolling Fix is here to help organise the weekend, or you're more than welcome to do your own thing and meet us for a cold tinny at the finish.

The Rolling Fix will be there to help sort out any last-minute mechanical issues or question regarding recommendations around equipment. Attached is a story from last year's Gravel Grit, written by John Treloar in Cyclist Magazine.
